We are looking for RD&A Technologist for a Fixed Term (Maternity Cover) contract in our plant located in Hochheim a. M. (Hessen): SuCrest GmbH. Today the location is a leading supplier of ingredients for the food industry. Its specialties are ice cream, baked goods and confectionery, as well as muesli and snacks.
About the role
- Responsible for Developing new products for Dairy, Ice Cream & Confectionary/Chocolate end markets
- Commercial focused development lead creating market suitable products for strategic customers
- Managing new product developments from concept though commercialisation/scale ups to product launch
- Working closely and being technical contact for Global customer and developing products for premium Confectionary/Chocolate brands and Ice Cream brands
- Technologies include Sweet Food Systems and sweet soft and hard Confectionary inclusions/fillings
- Preparing food samples in lab environment.
- Linking with other functions, to manage the new production introduction process and life cycle.
- Collaboratively working with Technologists and Scientists on preparation of food samples and timely despatch to customers.
- Ensures that ingredient functionality will meet sample requirements
- Interacts and troubleshoots with Technologists and Scientists on key developments and applications leading to the formation of strong technical relationships with peers
- Strong market & customer focus - full understanding of the Kerry portfolio and business capability, and delivery, to support new customer concepts.
- Working with the application team to trial new processes, equipment and ingredients
- Attending and leading trials for new products & improving efficiencies
- Leading customer engagement, presentations and RDA based communication
Key responsibilities
- BSc Food science-based degree or equivalent relevant professional experience and trade qualifications
- French or German literacy will be an advantage
- Experience in working in lab environment and with food materials
- Good lab practices and organisational skills to maintain a clean efficient lab environment
- Knowledge of food manufacturing/processing
- Knowledge of ice cream & confectionary products including desserts and confectionery inclusions etc.
- Knowledge of functional ingredients, bakery ingredients, sugars, fats etc.
- Competent in IT applications relevant to role
- Ability to independently plan and manage sample preparation on week to week basis
- Numerical Skills, needed for the successful preparation of samples.
- Team Working, generally working as part of a lab-based team, must be able to work in close coordination with other team members
- Attention to Detail, must be very precise in all activities, following protocols and quality procedures closely, noticing quickly if something is deviating from expected results
