A Snapshot of Your Day
- You work together with your project or tender team for electrical substation
- You have a jour fix with your procurement team in Germany and eastern Europe and define pooling actions and supplier strategies
- You create and issue Request for Quotations to suppliers, negotiate with them prices, terms and conditions and conclude the contract with them
- You give an procurement status to your project team and inform them about negotiated savings, placed orders, upcoming negotiations and deliveries
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead and execution of all 3rd party procurement for projects and tender in substation business
- Lead of a small international procurement team (5-6 people) for Germany and Southeast Europe
- Early Involvement during the project sales phase and work out of possible allocation strategies across Germany and Southeast Europe, considering the project goals, qualifications and costs as well as create and present decision templates (Total Cost of Ownership) for all project related 3rd party products and services
- Meet with cross-functional partners and participate in project/sales meetings to provide procurement market and preferred supplier information at an early stage to optimize supplier selection
- Prepare award negotiations using all available purchasing levers (e.g. eSourcing) and carry them out to achieve the best possible award result in terms of costs and quality and further project goals
- Negotiate and conclude individual - and frame/contract agreements for services and goods
- Digitalization and usage of digital tools to facilitate and streamline procurement processes as well as evaluate installation / commissioning services within the bid project team and develop sub-supplier and partners as well as coordinate the interface between internal and external partners
- Cover short-term requirements for construction sites like products and personnel (e.g. Site manager, commissioning engineer ...) as well as support the project team in claim negotiations towards Suppliers applying relevant law and regulations
- Carry out tenders on your own, ensure that they are complete and correct, and monitor the provision of the necessary documents by the relevant specialist departments as well as have a significant share in the contract negotiations with the supplier and apply Procurement regulations as per Compliance, organization standards and ProjectManagement@SiemensEnergy
What You Bring
- Technical or commercial Master’s degree preferably in Industrial Engineering, and ideally experience in electrical engineering/products
- Minimum 10 years international procurement/commodity management, experience in turnkey solutions business within the energy and/or power transmission sectors, advanced experience in procurement of electrical and electromechanical products (i.e. Control & Protection, Telecommunication & measuring devices etc.) and erection & commissioning services
- International work experience and management of a small international team (virtual or disciplinary), working abroad experience would be beneficial
- Knowledge and experience in supplier qualification process (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001)
- Advanced knowledge of commercial and contract law (work/service and technical products) knowledge and acumen, with a good understanding of all relevant global commodities and relevant markets
- Advanced knowledge in strategic and tactical procurement in project environment (Procurement Strategy, Supplier strategies, Negotiation Skills and Tactics)
- Fluent German and English skills, both spoken and written as well as negotiation skills in an international environment
