Based in Munich, Germany and established in 2002, European Space Imaging is the leading premium supplier of global Very High Resolution (VHR) satellite imagery and derived Earth Observation services to customers in Europe and North Africa. We were the first European company to bring 30 cm satellite imagery to the market and currently own and operate our own multi-mission ground station at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) with access to the WorldView constellation from Maxar Technologies.
Facilitating our growth, we are now seeking a Junior GIS Specialist to support our operations team.
This is an entry-level position and a perfect opportunity for graduates to take ownership of a role and become an essential part of a dynamic and growing organization.
Your tasks and responsibilities include:
- Preparation, execution, analyzing and reporting of our image collection campaigns
- Support of our Operations team for satellite tasking
- Manage satellite collections
- Pre-pass preparation
- Real-time collection support
- Post-pass reporting
- Generation of data and image products
Your skills include:
- Degree in Remote Sensing, Geography or similar
- Good command of English language and good knowledge of German
- Good working knowledge of the MS Office Suite
- Structured, well organized approach to work
- Creative and proactive person with good communication skills
- Knowledge of GIS (ArcView/ArcGIS)
Additional requirements:
- Willingness for weekend work (dependent on the schedule this could either be from home, from the office or at the DLR, Oberpfaffenhofen) is absolutely necessary
- Valid driver’s license
