About This Position
We are looking for iOS developers to help us build our next generation of iOS applications, both customer facing as well as internal. Your main responsibilities will be the development and maintenance of iOS applications and their integration with our backend services. In the process, you will be working with multiple teams of different disciplines, therefore experience in working in dynamic teams, as well as collaborative problem solving and creating quality user experiences is essential.
Your responsibilities
- Help build and scale Gorilla’s iOS apps by defining architecture and shipping delightful user experiences
- Ensure quality through close collaboration with your team on code reviews, unit tests and instrumentation tests
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers and Designers to iterate on the design and implementation of our products
- Work closely with Backend Engineers and Data Scientists to build features and ship experiments
- Identify areas of improvement and advocate for best practices across your team
- Contribute to the culture of ownership that reinforces the core values of Gorilla
What you need to be successful
- An advanced understanding of Swift. Objective-C experience is not required but is a plus
- An advanced understanding of UIKit and a desire to create fluid and seamless user experiences
- Experience with interacting with REST APIs (GraphQL not required but is a plus)
- An understanding of Apple's design principles and human interface guidelines
- The ability to create and work in different types of architectures without religiously sticking to one
- The ability to make informed decisions on when to bring in a 3rd party dependency and when to build in-house
- Familiarity with CI and related CI platforms / tools
- Experience with Git
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Open source projects and a portfolio of past work are not required but is a plus
