Job-Beschreibung und Hinweise für Associate Scientist (m/f/x)

For our Global Pathogen Safety department we are looking for an

Associate Scientist (m/f/x) - R-178430

(Fulltime / fixed-term 12/23/ Tariff)

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to virus validation studies and development of dedicated as well as contributing virus clearance steps in manufacturing processes
  • Supporting the development of experimental study designs in agreement with supervisor
  • Assist with authorship/review of (GLP) study documentation (protocols, reports)
  • Planning and performing experimental work including data analysis and communicating results to manager or project team in form of a report or a presentation
  • Perform virus titrations in order to determine virus titers under L2/S2 conditions
  • Operation of complex devices and processing/ preparation of raw data
  • Collection, preparation and distribution of samples/data in coordination with other departments
  • Participation in local and global projects
  • Creation and maintenance of records within internal documentation systems
  • Creation and revision of technical documents, including operating procedures, test- or process protocols and reports
  • Supports the procurement of new devices and systems
  • Maintenance of laboratory equipment according to specific quality standards (e.g. GLP)
  • Coordinating the availability of materials, solutions and reagents
  • Control and preservation of biological systems (e.g. cell culture)

Experience in the following areas is an advantage:

  • GLP experience is preferred.
  • Experience in cell culture is mandatory, experience in virological methods (such as virus titration) is preferred.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A University Degree in a relevant field of Science (e.g. Bachelor of Science in biology)
  • Project experience and knowledge of relevant analytical methods
  • English Level 2
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
